Oh, bad show, Basil! A true gentlemen would have waited for his date to return so they could get kidnapped *together*.
To be fair, I don’t think Basil had much choice in the matter.
That last panel made me sad. I over-empathize… but we Elizabeths have to stick together! Go find him, ME!
It is an uncharacteristically sad panel from me, because I also over-empathize. Just a bit.
Okay, two more things:
1) Aha! Sinister agent is named Albert! Also I’m guessing he’s left-handed.
2) is it just me, or does Basil look a little pudgier? Maybe it’s just in comparison to Amanda, though.
3) NARROWLY AVOIDING EXTRA POST: I bet that guy works for Jim.
If Basil’s looking a bit more plump, maybe Mary Elizabeth’s been feeding him richer food to improve his health.
Mr. Troutman, does Mary Elizabeth cook? And if so, does she cook well?
Mary Elizabeth is an amazing chef. Probably.
I warned you about those murders bro.
I told you dog.
It keeps happening.

I’m sorry, but with Basil’s line in the first panel, I couldn’t NOT say it.
Love the League of Their Own reference. That said…poor Mary Elizabeth.
I thought it was a Green Mile reference. But we can agree that it probably wasn’t an Apollo 13 reference. Unless Mary Elizabeth was pissing into a spacesuit.
I sense a sudden chill on the dating front with Mary Elizabeth, especially if she finds out he went on a ‘date’ with Amanda. I know it isn’t one, you all know it isn’t one, but it’s not impossible that Mary Elizabeth will choose to see it as one anyway.
I think she’ll be cool with it. She didn’t drop hum as soon as she realized he’s a murder-magnet, so this’ll probably be just more of the weird.
