#1.088: Happening Now

What we have here in the fourth panel is an example of something Mr. Dan Shive likes to tease me about, that being my love of drawing people at seemingly random heights.  I just love the visual contrast it provides, and I thought I should make it clear how tall each character was in relation to the other.  So yes, Amanda is a tall, straw-thin giant.

He has GOT to go in the kitchen now and get a bowl of popcorn, for the rest of the Amanda/Andie slugfest.

Amanda is a tall, straw thin giant with EPIC HAIR. I seriously only just realized how long her hair was. can someone at some point in-comic PLEASE play with her hair? please? also, can you tell us their offficial, fett-and-inches heights? if she’s not TOO tall, she might wind up on my “to cosplay” list…(which currently includes Susan from EGS, among others…)

She’s pretty damn tall, though that shouldn’t stop any potential cosplayers within a few inches. These numbers probably aren’t EXACT, but I imagine she’s naturally 6’3″, and is subsequently boosted higher with her variety of heeled footwear. Her hair hangs just past her butt, which is probably unmanageable in real life but looks awesome in comics.

So, based on your Troutcave Oldies header, with heels she’s about as tall as (or even taller than) Sporkman (without heels).

I’m not sure that header is 100% accurate, but yeah, she’s as tall or taller than Old Sporkman. Current Sporkman is maybe 3 feet tall, if he’s lucky.

…I know people with hair that long…. I’ve been growing my hair out, but at the rate it grows it would be three or four years before it even thinks about getting that long, and it will never be that blonde…never again. I require a four foot wig and some four inch heels…and a suit…

            I approve of this plan.

What we need is Justin from El Goonish Shive. Amanda’s hair would never be safe.

Shhh, Basil. Now is quiet time.

Seriously, Amanda and Andie. Physical insults, this early in the conversation?

Andi’s not big, she’s ample. Like “ample bosom”. I’d pick her over Amanda, at least looks-wise; she’s a little bit too crazy for me.

That’s a lie, I’m as crazy as she is.

Andie’s definitely a member of the Chub Club, isn’t she?

She looks like she’s a member of the short club too.

It’s not that Andi is huge–yeah, she’s a bit bigger but pretty much a normal human.

It’s just that Amanda is so thin that there is a constant danger of her ribs tearing through her skin like it was wet paper every time she breathes in.
