*Sudden realisation* Is that where the phrase ‘It’s curtains for you’ comes from?
Lacy, gently wafting curtains.
Nah, I’m pretty sure that originates from the theater: when the show comes to an end, the curtains close.
It took @Mike’s comment for me to realise I had thought that the drapes were concrete, which was a slightly bizarre mental image.
Furthermore, where is Basil going to get the drapes? Will the Sheriff give them to him upon arrest as a welcome gift? Small towns really are more hospitable.
Hey no one messes with the guy who hangs flowered drapes in their prison cell.
