What's truly impressive is that dude's ability to keep a cigar lit in the rain.

#2.034: Tourists

My friends, I’ve a big announcement for y’all: Mary Elizabeth’s Sock, Volume One, is now on Kickstarter.

I wanna print books on paper, but simply can’t afford it, so I need your help!  Please visit my page on Kickstarter and pitch in however you can.  There are some cool rewards being offered in addition to the book itself, so check it out.  Your support is both needed and great appreciated.  (And please, spread the word!  Let’s rock this party hard.)

I want to emphasize that without this Kickstarter, I cannot print books.  My budget just can’t handle the costs, so if you want MESS in print form, this is the only way it’s gonna happen.  Thanks!

He drew it and you’re telling what he drew?
    Yes, yes you are.

And rightly so too, shows how independent his characters are if he can’t even tell them to get inside without them yelling back “but mo-omm we’re not even *getting* wet!”

Also, why did Basil steal the Mayor’s hairdo in panel 3, and how come the Mayor didn’t notice?

Btw, I’m reading a 19th century translation of Beowulf thanks to LitBrick. Mission acccomplished? :)

It seems I hit the wrong ‘Reply’ button. Damn my awful aim!

Ah, but Troutman, the cigar isn’t IN the rain!

From the fact that neither Basil nor the Mayor seem to be getting wet, I can deduce that the balcony has some kind of awning or overhead coverage.

And it isn’t super windy, or else the angle of the rain would be more severe, among other things.
