   Okay, I feel completely out of the loop and confused. I know the characters and the artwork…and I’ve also just run through both Bricklit and this comic in the past 2 days….but didn’t Basil Flint P.I. have his own comic at some point or am I completely cracked?

     Flint had a couple of different series in the past, yes. MESS is a completely clean reboot, though. Nothing to do with the old comics.

   Facts:
   Amanda is back in her old town.
   The person who shot Jim was short.
   Mary Elizabeth, Andy, or Basil are all short.
   So far, we are led to believe that none of these people shot Jim.
   There is only one other short person that we’ve been introduced to in the MESS world.
   Amanda just saw something that she credits to her “elf eyes”.

   Sporkman with a recently fired revolver?

   …no, really. When I heard elves existed in the Sporkman universe, I kind of assumed she was one and it just didn’t come up very often. Isn’t she? Because those really are some weird-ass ears.

   Anyway, I spy, with my elfin eye… your girlfriend chasing your insane sister.

     Amanda was an elf in earlier versions of Sporkman and Basil Flint, but, to the best of my knowledge, that hasn’t extended to the current extended Sporkman universe, which LB and MESS fall into (I don’t care if MESS is supposed to be the main comic of the three, it’s still Sporkman universe to me =P). I’m pretty sure Basil is just joking around and Trout is alluding to when Amanda actually was an elf for those of us in the know to giggle at.

         Looks like I failed my knowledge(Sporkman history) check =(
